Bored of the treadmill but not quite getting the workout you want from standard skating? Welcome to Skate & Sweat, the high-intensity cardio class on roller skates. Designed for intermediate-level quad skaters who can skate, stop and fall confidently and safely, Skate & Sweat will help improve your speed, stamina, agility and fitness. Set to a pumping soundtrack, and with a small class size of just 10, Skate & Sweat is led by Charlie, an ex-roller derby player with more than 25 years' skating experience (so you'll be in great hands). Lace up those skates and let's get moving!
Sessions are for 18 years +
Skate & Sweat sessions take place on Tuesday evenings, 8-9pm, once a month at Redlands Community Sports Centre, Dorchester Road, Weymouth.
Please note that classes will be monthly
The class is suitable for intermediate to advanced-level quad roller skaters only (if you're a beginner, check out our comprehensive 6-week Skate Club course instead). As a minimum, you must be able to skate forwards, slow down, stop and fall confidently and safely at a medium pace.
Protective gear is essential, and all skaters must bring their own:
Quad roller skates
Knee pads
Elbow pads
Wrist guards
Helmet
