Details

Linked data — A moment of library opportunity. A chance to move beyond aged infrastructures and into the digital lives of the faculty, students, and communities we serve. But what is linked data? And how does it help us transition out of MARC and onto the semantic web? Better yet, how do we start to design a plan for our individual libraries that meets the needs of our institution, its patrons, and available budget? Join metadata strategist, Nannette Naught, and Innovative’s Business of Library Consultants for an introductory survey of linked library metadata and how early adopters are using these techniques in their library. Walk away prepared to lead discussions in your library and start the move out of the catalog and into increased engagement and improved user experiences.
