Rooted Explorers Classes & Registration

Rooted Explorers is an outdoor nature play group for children and their caregivers, led by an occupational therapist in local parks. Children and their grown-ups explore, move, create, and connect through playful experiences that encourage curiosity, sensory exploration, confidence, and connection.

Each class features a seasonal or nature-inspired theme and may include nature walks, sensory play, process-focused art, movement games, stories, and open-ended exploration. The same weekly theme is offered on Wednesday and Thursday, allowing families to choose the day that works best. Classes last approximately 60 minutes, followed by optional time for snacking, socializing, and continued play.

Designed primarily for children ages 1.5–8, Rooted Explorers welcomes mixed-age groups and children of all abilities. Children may participate at their own pace, but caregivers must remain present and supervise throughout the experience.

Classes are held in parks throughout the Collegeville area and surrounding Montgomery County communities. Exact locations and class details are provided with each listing. Families should dress for the weather and the possibility of getting wet or messy.

Payment may be made online during booking or offline through Venmo, Zelle, cash, or check. If paying offline, payment instructions will be included in your booking confirmation.

Rooted Explorers is led by Rebecca Wagner, MS, OTR/L, pediatric occupational therapist and founder of Rooted in Function, LLC. Classes are recreational enrichment experiences and do not constitute individualized occupational therapy services.
