These are really useful and fabulous structures that are so satisfying to make and even more gratifying to give as very special gifts. They can be tiny, tall, chunky or huge and be constructed as a soft cover for cards or a book, or with stiff boards covered in beautiful papers (all those we can’t help buying and might not be so good for writing on) or papers you decorate yourself. They can carry calligraphy, gilding or design-work inside and have two, three, or even more sections folding in different configurations. You’ll have a lot of fun making these.
You can work alongside the tutor in folding the simplest version but making the board covered one may be a little demanding during the session. Have a go if you wish catching the recording for anything you miss, or do so afterwards.
You’ll be asked to mute your sound, but there will be opportunities to ask questions and contribute to the processes.
After booking your place PDF handouts will be emailed to you 3 days before the workshop date. The recording cannot be downloaded but will be available to view for 30 days afterwards.

Materials list:
• Cutting mat
• Craft or Stanley knife with a new blade
• Metal ruler or an acrylic one with a metal edge
• Pencil and layout/cartridge paper for sketching out diagrams and measurements
• 1 or 2 sheets of A4 size decorated/coloured paper – approx. 120 to 160 gsm
• 2 large sheets of coloured/decorated papers – approx. 50 x 70 cm and 160 gsm (decorated papers will go on the outside, but these can be plain colours too) – suggest Fabriano Tiziano or Canson as plain colour papers.
• 2 or 3 A4 or bigger size grey boards – approx. 1.5 to 2.5mm thick
• Optional – 2 or 3 smaller pieces of thick corrugated cardboard if you want to make a chunky one
