Design for Calligraphy and Lettering – a series of four linked workshops exploring various approaches to ‘design’ – not just about layout, but considering all the elements necessary to bring a composition to a conclusion: choices of placement, contrast, colour, rhythm, movement, balance, emphasis, and styles of scripts or any decorative aspects. There’s so much more to think about than just which script and where to position the words. The sessions will introduce different ways of looking at the process, with the chance to have a go at all of them to find which suits you best. These alternative methods will offer you a whole new perspective as well as the confidence to try new and different things – giving your work an innovative boost.
PLease note you can book the workshops individually, but if you are attending all 4, this has 10% off.
You’ll be asked to mute your sound, but there will be opportunities to ask questions and contribute to the processes.
After booking your place PDF handouts will be emailed to you 3 days before the workshop date. The recording cannot be downloaded but will be available to view for 30 days afterwards.
