Learn how to use a hydraulic press for cutting, shaping, and creating hollow forms in metal for jewellery making.

Our Hydraulic Press Jewellery Course introduces students to jewellery making techniques using a hydraulic press. Students will learn how to use the press to create hollow forms in metal, as well as how to integrate these components into finished jewellery pieces. The course covers die forming, embossing and silhouette dies providing a foundation for unique and professional-quality designs.

By the end of the course, you’ll have developed the skills to confidently use a hydraulic press for jewellery making and will have created multiple finished pieces.

If you are a complete beginner we recommend starting with a beginner course before attempting this course since students are expected to know how to design, make and finish their own pieces.

Course Materials

Course fees include silver solder and saw blades. Metals, findings, gold solder and a variety of stones are available for purchase at the school.

Custom silhouette and embossing dies are available for purchase and will belong to you. If you have specific designs in mind, they can be made to order at an additional cost. Please contact your course tutor to enquire.
