Discover the ancient art of sand casting and get creative in our Sand Cast Jewellery: 2 Day Course, perfect for beginners and experienced jewellers alike! This hands-on workshop invites you to transform raw materials into one-of-a-kind pieces. You’ll learn how to sand cast using a variety of items to make your mould and you’ll even set cubic zirconia stones directly into your castings. Items can include naturally found objects such as shells, acorns, small pinecones and other interesting organic elements.

Over the weekend, you’ll master essential techniques while working with both recycled silver offcuts and new casting grain, allowing you to create sustainable individual pieces. With expert instruction, you’ll gain confidence in every step – from mould preparation to pouring molten metal – resulting in unique jewellery that’s all your own. Our instructors will guide you through the entire sand casting process, ensuring you leave with finished pieces you’re proud of.

Course Schedule

Day 1: Introduction and Hands-On Casting

  • Materials overview, and mould making techniques.
  • Preparing for casting, pouring molten metal, and cooling process.

Day 2: Finishing and Stone Setting

  • Finishing techniques.
  • Setting cubic zirconia.

We have 2 ticket options for this course.

Ticket option 1: Excluding Materials – This ticket is suitable for those who would like to recycle silver offcuts.

Ticket option 2: Including Materials – Includes £40 of silver grain and cubic zirconia which is enough material to complete a number of pieces.

Please bring an apron to protect your clothes. We take an hours break for lunch, packed lunches are recommended since lunch options are limited in the area.
