Details

This is an evening course consisting 10 x 2 hour evening classes.

Our beginner silver jewellery making course is a great place to start if you’re new to jewellery making.

This beginner silver jewellery making course offers a good foundation in working with silver, introducing students to basic metal working techniques with a gentle learning curve. Our aim is to ensure students feel safe and confident in the workshop and have a good understanding of how to safely use the various pieces of equipment. We do this through a series of projects that change through the year.

Our spring term projects are as follows;

Oval stone pendant:
A silver pendant with a twist detail and rub over setting for an oval cabochon stone.
A trio of textured bangles:
Three silver bangles using a mixture of wire sections and different surface finishes.
Round section ring with tube setting:
Silver round section ring with a facetted stone in a tube setting.

On completion of the course students will have a good grasp of basic jewellery making techniques and can be confident enough to set up at home. Students intending to further their learning can enrol on to following term beginner course where they will be able to build on there acquired skills through a series of new projects.
