Julian of Norwich, according to Thomas Merton, is "without doubt one of the most wonderful of all Christian voices." Julian lived in the fourteenth century and experienced a series of visions centered on divine love; she wrote a book about her visions — the first book written in the English language by a woman. Today, she is widely regarded as one of the greatest of Christian mystics, and her teachings offer a rich and beautiful approach to the transformational power of contemplative prayer. This retreat will weave together insights from Julian's writing with spiritual exercises inspired by her wisdom and plenty of time for reflection, journaling, and silence.
