Details

Join class online or in person at Fillongley Village Hall, Coventry road, Fillongley.

This class is suitable for men and women of any age and all fitness levels as the chair will be used to offer support and if required can be used to offer challenge. The class is particulary suitable if you are unable to lie down on the floor as we can choose to stand or sit throughout the session.

The class will be a combination of Pilates, Yoga and exercise to music. You will be encouraged to move at your own pace with specific guidance and support throughout. We will take time to create mobility in our joints, ankles, knees, hips, elbows, shoulders, fingers, toes, neck and everywhere between.

Build core strength through breathing and specific movement challenges while seated. Strengthen our legs and arms with the use of equipment which will be provided (please feel free to bring your own hand weights and / or resistance band if you have one). We will also be having some fun as we challenge our coordination and test our balance.

This class will develop better posture, build a stronger body, stimulate and finally relax our mind as I will end this class with a gentle relaxing guided meditation.

The class will increase your proprioception (awareness of the body as a whole and in parts, in space) which may deteratate as we age.

For example, proprioception enables a person to close their eyes and touch their nose with their index finger. Other examples of proprioception include: Knowing whether feet are on soft grass or hard cement without looking (even while wearing shoes) Balancing on one leg or raising up onto your toes.

Instructions

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in. Ideally bare feet or socks / comfortable footwear. Bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated and help your muscles to receive all the good nutrients as we move through the class. Being well hydrated will improve the outcome of your class.

All equipment used in class will be provided, however, if you would like to bring your own hand weights or resistance band please do so.

Course ticket - for all 4 dates.
One person ticket for chair based movement class. Four week block, dates as given in the booking. Ticket is non-refundable but may be transfered to another attendee. Missed classes will be made up by receiving a recorded class which is live for 7 days. This will be a standard mat class which includes standing and lying down exercises. Unfortunately missed classes may not be carried forward. Remember to let the instructor know if you have any health concerns that they should be aware of. Thank you for your interest and booking.

One person ticket for chair based movement class. SINGLE CLASS TICKET for the date selected. Ticket is non-refundable but may be transfered to another attendee.
