Ignite: Developing your teaching in Years 3-6

AIMS:
Ignite is a Minster Learning Alliance programme of Professional Learning designed
specifically for teachers in their first 6 years of practice.
Connect and Reflect aims to
✓ Inspire teachers through engaging professional learning
✓ Deepen practice with current educational research and reflection
✓ Foster collaboration and peer learning
✓ Support wellbeing and workload through effective strategies

STRUCTURE:
In the first two years of practice, ECTs will work through the Early Career Teacher Entitlement
programme in partnership with Redhill Teaching Hub and Education Development Trust.
All teachers working within Mitre schools within the first 3-6 years of their practice are invited to
engage with an ongoing programme of activities which evolves each year in response to the needs of the participants.

Our programme will include:

1. Face-to-face sessions with teachers which explore key aspects of teaching
2. Online ‘Teach Meet’ sessions which serve as an opportunity for teachers to share best practice and learn from each other
3. An Exchange programme in each Summer Term, with the opportunity for teachers to visit a colleague in a different setting.

2025-2026:
Monday 29th September 3.15 – 5.00pm at The Minster School: Working with parents and families

Monday 17th November 3.45 - 4.45pm Online Teach Meet: Developing independence in learning

Monday 19th January 3.15 – 5.00pm at The Minster School: Adaptive teaching for learners with ADHD

Monday 16th March 3.45 4.45pm Online Teach Meet: Reflecting upon the MITRE PL Day theme

Monday 11th May 3.45 – 4.45pm Online session: Introduction to the Exchange Programme

Summer - 2nd half term: Exchange programme visits (locations organised centrally, dates
organised by participants and schools)
