This is a sociable event where players enter as individuals and play with a different person in each round. Players of all abilities are welcome to take part. We will play between 24 and 35 boards, with a break at half time for tea and light refreshments (cake and biscuits). Play finishes between 5.30 and 6.30 pm, depending on the number of tables and number of boards played.
Everyone plays the same basic ACOL system – a standard system card will be provided for you to follow. You are allowed to consult the system card during play.
Individual events do not count towards your NGS grading. Masterpoints are awarded, but at a reduced rate.
The closing date for entries is nominally Saturday 18th February. However please be aware that we may close the event to entries sooner than this so that we don't end up with a fraction of a table, so book early if you want to be sure of a place!
If the competition is marked as fully booked on Bookwhen, please add your name to the waiting list - you will be offered a place once we are able to make up an additional full table.
Note that it may not be possible to accommodate players who wish to have a stationary seat - most individual movements require all players to switch tables and seats.
Contact the Tournament Secretary on firstname.lastname@example.org with any queries.
Tea and light refreshments are included. Please book a place for yourself by clicking "Select" . Then proceed to the next stage by clicking "View Selections".
These tickets may be taken by those who have applied for and obtained a concession card from the club
