This is a sociable and fun event where players enter as individuals and play with a different person in each round. Players of all abilities are welcome to take part. We will play between 28 and 40 boards, with a break at half time for tea and refreshments.
Everyone plays the same basic ACOL system – a convention card will be provided for you to follow. Play finishes at about 6.00 to 6.30 pm.
The winner will be the club’s Individual Champion for 2022-2023, and will be awarded the Thompson Trophy at the AGM.
Individual events do not count towards your NGS grading. Masterpoints are awarded, but at a reduced rate.
The closing date for entries is nominally Saturday 15th October. However please be aware that we may close the event to entries sooner than this so that we don't end up with a fraction of a table. If entries close early, please add your name to the waiting list - your entry will be accepted once we are able to make up an additional full table.
