Our Time Sing Song Sign

A bit about us

Our Time - Sing song sign is a 45 minute class full of props, puppets and music. We dive into a new and exciting theme each week for example we may go on a fun adventure to the park, explore the weather or rocket off into space. Our sessions have a mix of original songs created by us as well as nursery rhymes that may be familiar to you and your child. During each block term you will learn over 50 new signs to use with your child, these also include routine words that you will want to use every day to communicate. At the end of each session we provide a handout with some communication development tips, and a game for home learning, as well as a reminder of the signs we have learnt in class. Our sessions are a mix of adult led learning, and child led games. Every week we will sign a short story, sing, dance, and use some themed props. Our class is everything that a baby or toddler music class has to offer with the additional benefit of learning a new skill. Because we learn signing through music, children pick up the signs in a fun way, and the songs make it easier for you as a parent to remember the signs when you get home.

We often get asked if our sessions are only for children who are deaf or aren't speaking yet. The short answer is NO. Signing classes are for everyone. Our classes will support the development on speech through sign in young babies, and will benefit children with a speech and language delay. However, research has also found that children who sign develop new vocabulary quicker than those who don't so our classes can also help your child to advance in their communication and language abilities.

*We run a baby sign session from birth to pre walking, a toddler session from walking up to school age, and a mix age session also.
