BOOKS ARE REQUIRED MATERIALS: Students are required to purchase the books recommended by their teacher. For new students, books will be provided at the studio during the first class while the teacher determines which method book is most appropriate for their learning needs. If your book has not arrived before your first class, or if you forget to bring it, copies will be available at the studio for in-class use. RECITAL DATE AND REGISTRATION FEE: Participation is optional, subject to availability, and open to students enrolled in a Full-Course Enrollment for the Spring Term 2025 from January 12 to June 21, 2026 in either Group Piano or Individual Piano Courses. Piano Buds In A Pod Recital, May 11, 2026, Monday, 4:00-6:00 PM, at Steinway Hall, 1133 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10036.
TUITION FEES: After June 21, 2026, you will be paying $57.50/30-minutes with a Full Course Enrollment Ticket, and $75/30-minutes with a 1-Class/Drop-In Ticket. There are several payment options for Individual Piano classes. A single 1-Class/Drop-In Ticket is $75. The introductory first class is $60 when the discount code ILOVEPIANO is applied at checkout. For the Full-Course Enrollment Ticket, the tuition rate is $57.50 per 30-minute class.
RULES FOR WAITING INSIDE THE CLASSROOM: The green area rug with animals is “reserved for students”. You may drop off the student or wait inside the classroom. Accompanying persons are asked to remain in the designated area, seated on the bench or on the small area rug by the door entrance.
Individual Piano is a drop-off class without caregiver participation. One parent or caregiver may observe from the designated waiting area for the duration of the class. Due to space constraints, only one parent/caregiver per child is permitted inside Piano Buds in a Pod and must adhere to all policies and procedures to support the focus and learning of both students and teachers.
CLASS OBSERVATION POLICY: All accompanying persons are required to remain outside the students’ peripheral view to support focus during class.
SILENCE IS REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES: Adults waiting inside must remain quiet for the entire class. If noise continues, you may be asked to step outside.
DO NOT MARK AS SPAM: You’ll get a reminder a day before every class. Please don’t mark mail@bookwhen.com as “Spam”—important updates like bookings, cancellations, and recitals are sent by email only.
CLASS DATES AND FEES ARE SET BASED ON THE NUMBER OF SCHEDULED CLASSES FOR THE TERM: Please review the schedule, including school closure dates, before booking.
MISSED CLASSES & MAKE-UPS: Book your make-up piano class up to 6 days in advance, subject to availability. Students who are absent from an Individual Piano class are permitted to attend either an Individual Piano Class (30 minutes), a Group Piano Class (45 minutes), or use 30 minutes of unsupervised practice time on the digital piano as a make-up, subject to seat availability. Advance written notice is required to transfer a class within the same course period. Holidays will be accommodated only with prior notification. Eligibility for make-up classes is limited to students with active enrollment in the same term. No more than three (3) make-up classes shall be scheduled per course. No refunds, credits, or extensions will be granted for missed classes. This policy is firm and non-negotiable. To request a make-up class, email pianobudsinapod@gmail.com and request a make-up class code for a 1-Class/Drop-In Ticket to use for your make-up session. Misuse of this code is not permitted and will lead to immediate cancellation of the booking.
Make-up classes may not be carried over into the next term. The sole exception is the Summer Term (July 6–31, 2026), during which students may attend scheduled Group Piano classes, subject to seat availability. This policy is firm and will be strictly enforced. If you know in advance that you’ll miss specific dates within a course, you may choose to pay per class instead of enrolling in the full course. Pay-per-class bookings open 6 days before each class.
STUDIO CANCELLATIONS: If Piano Buds must cancel a class for any reason (e.g., teacher illness or inclement weather), a full refund will be issued for the cancelled class.
MAINTAINING YOUR CLASS TIME SLOT: Enrolled students will have their current piano class time slot temporarily reserved for you until a cut-off date. We will not be responsible for holding your piano class time slot after the cut-off date. Full-Course Enrollment Tickets for the same time slot are exclusively available to the email address used for the original registration.
STROLLER PARKING NOTICE: For everyone’s safety, strollers cannot be parked in the hallway due to fire hazard regulations. Please follow these steps: Check in at the concierge desk and ask for Piano Buds’ designated stroller parking space. The concierge will direct you to a stroller parking area either at the concierge desk or inside the community hall—both monitored by security cameras. Take all valuables with you. Use the elevator to Floor 1, Suite 101 to attend your class. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
REQUESTING A REFUND: Please note that all refund requests must be made in writing to the studio administration within the specified timeframes outlined in this policy. Refunds will be processed within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 15 working days of the request being received to your original payment method. To do so, please send an email to pianobudsinapod@gmail.com requesting a refund.

1-Class/Drop-In Ticket
The regular price for an Individual Piano Class 1-Class/Drop-In Ticket is $70. The introductory first class is available for $55 (a savings of $15) when the discount code ILOVEPIANO is entered during checkout. This introductory discount may be used only once per student. A 1-Class Drop-In Ticket is valid for one (1) student to attend one (1) 30-minute Individual Piano Class on the selected date only. Classes are offered on a pay-per-class basis, with bookings opening 7 days before each class on a first-come, first-served basis. You may reserve up to one week in advance, as long as the slot is still available.
