As we journey in the spiritual life, we encounter disconcerting challenges that often upend us and discourage us. In this retreat, award-winning author Fr. Albert Haase OFM will focus on some of the typical challenges we face: living in the present moment, forgiving others, spiritual darkness, attitudes for discerning God's will, and resisting God's will. This retreat will remind and encourage us with the good news that God's grace is always available to us despite the challenges and obstacles we face.
The content portion of this retreat concludes on Sunday, August 25, but guests are invited to stay in the retreat center until Monday, August 26.
Ordained a Franciscan priest in 1983, Albert Haase, OFM, is a popular preacher, teacher, and spiritual director. A former missionary to mainland China for more than eleven years, he is the award-winning author of more than fifteen books on popular spirituality and the presenter on five best-selling streaming videos (Paraclete Press). Rooms in the beautiful St. Francis Retreat Center include a bed, desk, reading chair, and private bath. Bed linens, towels, and soap are provided. Three vegetarian meals a day are included. Married couples or those traveling together can be accommodated in connecting rooms.
Vaccines and masks are no longer required.
Due to the expenses incurred hosting directed retreats, the $400 must be paid at the time of booking. Cancellations made before July 24, 2024 may receive a full refund. After July 24, $300 will be refunded.
Check-in is from 2-4 pm Eastern Time on Friday, and check-out is by no later than 9 am ET Monday to allow time for the rooms to be cleaned. The content portion of this retreat concludes on Sunday, August 25, but guests are invited to stay in the retreat center until Monday, August 26.
Please keep in mind that the gate closes at 6 pm
Shorts and tank tops are not permitted in the church and dining area, but they are perfectly fine in all other places.
If you must cancel, please let us know as soon as possible by either canceling your reservation online or by emailing us. Guests who are "no-shows" and do not inform us of their cancellation may be restricted from registering in the future.
