To mark the end of our 2022 heated season at Autumn Half Term and to celebrate going live with our free for life broadband from Truespeed, we are delighted to announce that Truespeed is funding a FREE Day at Portishead Open Air Pool for the local community.
On Saturday 29 October, we will be offering free 90-minute swim sessions from 10am to 5.15pm and the water will be dyed a luxuriant pink to match Truespeed’s brand colour in celebration of providing the pool with free broadband – but of course, in your imagination, you could be on a Hollywood film set! Spooky Halloween decorations will add to the seasonal atmosphere and everyone is encouraged to dress in Halloween costume and join in fun.

It’s free to spectate and everyone is welcome to come and watch. Truespeed will be on hand dishing out Halloween goody bags and hosting an array of family-friendly games with loads of prizes to be won. They’ll also be available to answer any questions about their ultrafast broadband as local residents can now get connected to some of the fastest broadband speeds in the world.
At 1.30pm spectators will be treated to a super display from Bristol synchronised swimming team Almost Synchro before the afternoon sessions restart at 2.15pm.
As a people-focused business that strives to help the communities it connects, we are very grateful to Truespeed for supporting our community pool. As well as funding our free swim day, they have provided new uniforms for all our lifeguards, takeaway cups for the tuck shop and Café Lido and have connected the pool to free broadband that includes a public wi-fi hotspot for our customers. And last but not least, Truespeed have provided a generous donation towards the cost of a much needed disability hoist for the pool.

Ts & Cs - FAMILY SWIMMING
• Tickets are free but if you find you are unable to attend at any point please do take the time to cancel your booking by selecting Cancel from Ticket Options on your booking confirmation. We currently have a long wait list for all sessions so it's really important that any unused spaces are available to rebook.
• Please don't attend if you have any symptoms of Covid-19 or are required to self-isolate
• On entry to the pool please sign in by giving the surnames of all your party to the receptionist. Be prepared to show your booking confirmation on request.
• Disabled swimmers needing the wet room please introduce yourself at this point and we will make sure it is available for you. It may be necessary to wait if another disabled swimmer has arrived before you.
• Adult to child ratio is one adult to two children under 8 - whether in or out of the water and regardless of swimming ability. These supervision levels may differ from other pools, but are necessary to ensure the safety of all bathers as we do not have a separate training pool. Thank you for your understanding.
• You don't need to book for infants under 3 years of age
• Please note that infants are required to wear a swim nappy, which you should bring with you.
• Please note that the baby pool will not be available at this time of year
• Lockers are available but you will need to bring your own padlock. Personal possessions are left at your own risk.
• Large inflatables are not permitted, but small inflatables, water wings, pool noodles and small water toys are allowed
• Goggles and wetsuits are permitted, face masks and flippers are not permitted
• The lifeguards will sound a whistle to clear the pool at the end of the session. Please follow instructions to allow us to clear the site and carry out cleaning before the next group of swimmers arrive
