SEND The Help CIC

Important Information, Safety & Responsibility

SEND the Help CIC provides inclusive, supportive group activities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). All sessions are delivered using a trauma-informed, neuro-affirming approach and are designed to support wellbeing, confidence, and connection.

By booking a session, parents/carers acknowledge and agree to the following:

SEND the Help CIC offers facilitated group activities and is not a childcare, respite, or one-to-one supervision service, unless explicitly stated in the session description. Ultimate responsibility for the child or young person remains with the parent/carer at all times.

SEND the Help CIC holds public liability insurance, and sessions are delivered by staff and facilitators who are DBS checked and safeguarding trained. Written risk assessments are completed for all activities and reviewed regularly. While reasonable care is taken to provide a safe and supportive environment, SEND the Help CIC cannot eliminate all risk.

Some sessions, including Mindful Walks and outdoor activities, take place in public or semi-public spaces and involve inherent and reasonable risks, such as uneven ground, weather conditions, and environmental factors. Routes and activities are planned in advance, group sizes are kept small, and staff remain with the group at all times. Participation is voluntary and parents/carers confirm they are satisfied that the activity is suitable for their child or young person.

Participants are expected to follow safety guidance provided by staff. SEND the Help CIC reserves the right to pause or end a participant’s involvement if safety guidance is not followed or if a session becomes unsafe for the individual or others. In such circumstances, parents/carers may be contacted to discuss next steps.

Parents/carers are responsible for ensuring that all relevant medical, behavioural, emotional, sensory, or communication needs are fully and accurately disclosed at the point of booking or in advance of the session. SEND the Help CIC cannot accept responsibility for incidents arising from undisclosed or inaccurate information.

For outdoor activities, parents/carers are responsible for ensuring participants wear appropriate clothing and footwear suitable for the environment and weather conditions. SEND the Help CIC is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen personal belongings.

Parents/carers are responsible for travel to and from sessions, including arrival and collection, unless otherwise stated.

If you are unsure whether a session is suitable for your child or young person, please contact us before booking.
