On this extended day session you will enjoy a traditional Japanese tea ceremony, make your own tea blend, a Japanese cookery workshop, Kokedama (a centuries-old Japanese horticulture technique), meditative movement with staff, gong bath and light lunch of Japanese cuisine.
Each activity provides a moment to create and participate in individual and cultural ritual, across a variety of activities.
-Our day will begin with an opening tea ceremony to greet guests
-Co-host Yuko Dixon from Omotenashi Dining will explain the unique aspects of tea ceremony.
-You'll then be given the opportunity to create your own blend of teas using a traditional Japanese tea base and adding your own chosen herbs.
-Yuko will show you how to make traditional Japanese food that you will get to eat along with lunch.
-Japanese cuisine will be prepared for a light lunch to share. Guests are encouraged to bring a side dish to share with the group.
-Kung Fu Black Belt instructor from East Midlands Kung Fu studio will lead us in a meditative movement session using the staff.
-Our day ends with a ritual to clear the mind and meditation, followed by a special gong bath, designed to gently stimulate the nervous system and end in relaxation.
Weather permitting, there will be time for exploring and reflection on the property at The Roundhouse.
Please arrive to the venue at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the session to allow for time to sign consent form and situate yourself.
Mat & cushions are available but please feel free to bring extra mat, blanket, pillows so you are most comfortable; water bottle suggested. You are encouraged to lie down during the sound session so comfortable, loose clothing is suggested.
Weather pending, there will be time for you to enjoy the property.
There is an option to notify me of any dietary requirements on the booking page; if you forgot, please reply to your booking confirmation at your earliest convenience so I may adjust the meal for you.
Just a reminder: Main dishes for lunch will be catered by Omotenashi Dining; I encourage everyone to bring a small dessert to share; please mark if it is Gluten Free, Vegan, Vegetarian, etc. I will also provide several options for snacks and drinks throughout the day.
Please review the consent form attached to this email. Upon arrival you will be requested to provide signature to confirm you have read and understood.
Please avoid consuming alcohol prior to attendance.
