Welcome to Simply Sound

If you’re wondering who is this lady with a bunch of bowls and gongs- Hi, I’m Shannon!
Recently I relocated to England from Belgium and found one of my passions to be sound.

Prior to this chapter of life, I was an intelligence analyst for over 22 years, supporting the U.S. Army in various capacities, serving in Iraq, federal law enforcement, and NATO. I loved helping, discovering, and figuring out what would happen next. What I didn’t love was 8+ hours every day of absorbing everything wrong in the world. I reached a point of burn out right as I was to give birth to my third child at the age of 43.

So many changes at once lead to extreme fatigue that wrecked my body physically and mentally and uncovered trauma I had not addressed in years. At my breaking point, I thought back to a time when I felt good- and that included regular sound baths with Himalayan bowls.

And as one chapter ended, a new one began…

I started training with the British Academy of Sound Therapy and soon found the science behind sound truly aids in healing of the body and mind- it wasn’t just woo-woo magical thinking. My sleep improved (even with a baby!), my brain fog subsided, mood improved, my blood pressure lowered, and my nervous system began to relax for the first time in years.

Whether it is with me or another sound practitioner, I encourage you to incorporate sound into your life regularly. The benefits can include those I’ve mentioned above and so much more. Plus it just feels good to lay down and feel vibrations moving through your body!

I hope to bring new elements to sound sessions. This includes evening sessions around the area, sessions for animals, and lots of collaborative, unique experiences to enhance your journey.

Know that relaxing and recharging with sound is not just for women. As a veteran that served in the Special Operations community for years with mostly males, I hope to see more men taking the time to care for themselves.

My schedule includes sessions around the area and I can also be booked for private group or 1:1 sessions. These can be with loved ones, including animal companions.

I hope to see you soon!
