Join us for this 90 minute introductory session to Forest Bathing at Brandon Country Park in Suffolk.
This session has been designed specifically for those who have never experienced a forest bathing session before, but who are curious and keen to try it. With this in mind please only proceed ot booking if you have not yet tried the practice of Forest Bathing, thank you.
Forest Bathing is the English translation of the Japanese term ‘Shinrin-yoku’. To better understand this concept, it means ‘spending quality time, fully immersed in the forest atmosphere, under the canopy of trees, for health and wellbeing purposes.
Our session will include some gentle walking, a brief intro to what Forest Bathing is and it's benefits, guided meditative sensory practices, tea and snacks and optional sharing to enchance the experience of the group. It takes place outdoors, in woodland in all weathers and is open to all 18 years of age or older.
Lasting for 90 minutes, this is suitable for all fitness levels but this location does have some uneven terrain and there will be some walking involved. No prior experience of mindfulness is required, simply the desire to spend some slow, connective time with nature.
Science based evidence shows that Forest Bathing can potentially:
Normalise blood pressure
Lower stress and anxiety levels
Improve concentration and memory
Ease feelings of depression
Reduce chronic pain
Improve energy
Boost the immune system
These sessions run in all weathers except high winds or storms when it is unsafe do so.
