💧 The Art of Feeling — Sadness
An exploration of what it means to feel sad

What is sadness?

It sounds like a simple question. But the closer we look, the more interesting and complicated it becomes.

Following our explorations of Anger, Joy and Fear, this fourth Art of Feeling workshop invites us to become curious about Sadness: how we recognise it, how we experience it, what happens in the body, and how our understanding and expression of sadness may be shaped by our experiences, families, communities and cultures.

Throughout the day, Alice and Sandra will bring together science, psychology, social and cultural perspectives, embodied exploration, movement, meditation, conversation, herbalism and reflection.

Rather than giving you a definition of what sadness should feel like, we’ll make space to investigate the many ways it can be experienced and perhaps question some of the things we think we know about it.

You don’t need to arrive feeling sad, and you won’t be asked to make yourself sad.

This isn’t about fixing sadness, forcing emotional release, or telling you how you should feel. Participation is invitational throughout, and you are always welcome to observe, adapt, pause or opt out.
