Chair yoga really is yoga! Chair yoga is adapted so that you can either remain seated or use the chair as a prop for support when standing - the choice is yours. It has all the benefits to traditional yoga - building, strength, flexibility, mindfulness, a chance for you to relax and have a greater sense of well being.
A typical class includes breathing practices, gentle movements, meditation and relaxation, much of what you would expect in a 'traditional' class without the getting up and down from the floor.
A few of the numerous benefits - energising, reduces fatigue, better joint movement, strengthens muscles which improves your balance which helps with fall prevention, encourages good breathing, relaxation, can help you manage your pain better, better sleep and digestion, good for reducing stress.
A good way for you to meet people and make friends.
Chair yoga, you have the choice to spend the whole class seated or you can choose to stand and use the chair for support.
Chair yoga is suitable for anyone who is unable to, or finds it difficult getting up and down from the floor, due to a medical condition, or weakness.
Open to all - all ages and all sizes. Suitable for those new to yoga and those that have done yoga before.
Comfortable clothing that you can easily move in, ideally trousers, leggings, or tracksuit bottoms of some kind preferably not a dress or skirt.
For any standing I do ask that you are barefoot - for health and safety.
An extra layer of clothing to put on, so that you don't get cold.
