Detection Workshop – Northfield (School Venue) | Mark Doggett
A full‑day detection workshop using a variety of indoor and outdoor areas at a school venue in Northfield. Training will be adapted throughout the day to suit each team.
FOCUS OF THE DAY
Developing problem‑solving in more complex scent pictures, including:
*Fainter or less obvious odour
*More complex or less accessible hides
*Less “clean” scent presentations
*Building confidence when the answer isn’t immediate
Suitable for teams already training in scent detection who want to deepen their skills.
Event Details
*Spaces: 8 handlers, 4 spectators
*: Approx. 10am–4/5pm
*Cost: £90 handler / £30 spectator
*Refreshments: Light snacks provided — please bring lunch(Cooker & Microwave available)
Mark Doggett brings extensive operational and research‑based detection experience, including work with:
*Enviro‑Dogs (dry‑rot detection & specialist projects)
*Medical Detection Dogs (Bio Detection, malaria project lead, research team manager)
*Conservation and international detection projects
*Explosives detection and research training
He currently works as a Training & Behaviour Advisor for a national charity
On Arrival
*Please arrive a little early for briefing
*Do not walk your dog before the briefing
*Dogs will work one at a time and stay in vehicles between searches
What to Bring
*Your dog’s odour (message me if different from Gun Oil, Clove, or Kong)
*High‑value rewards (food/toy)
*Appropriate clothing for indoor/outdoor work
*Provisions for your dog in your vehicle
*Dogs must remain on lead unless instructed otherwise.
We will be working inside and outside all day so please dress appropriately & make provisions for your dogs in your vehicles.
A 3.4% + £0.20 booking fee applies to bookings with a cost.
