Muddy Boots Forest Adventures
Is your child toddling around and loves being outdoors?
Muddy Boots Forest Adventures is the place for them, a well established Forest School in its 7th year and we currently cover Essex and Suffolk.
Our unique Forest School is 100% child led with lots of props and activities set up around the woodland. This allows children to go off and follow their own interests, will they choose to climb a tree, balance on the climbing ropes, swing in the swings, dig for treasure, hunt for bugs, use tools or watch the birds? The only thing stopping them is their imagination.
Our sessions are very relaxed and provide a no pressure environment where children can be with others or be alone and parents can step back from their busy lives and be at one with nature.
We run in woodlands in Abberton, Highwoods, Frinton & Walton and Ipswich 🌿

Covid-19 Pandemic Update -
After months of being unable to run any sessions, we are finally in a position to welcome you back the forest, they will run a little differently and we hope these will just be temporary.
Sessions will remain 1hr 15mins but will only run one or two sessions at each venue. We have purchased a completely separate kit for each session which will be deep cleaned, hammocks and soft toys machine washed and dried in afternoons.
Capacity and space to play:
Following government advice, our new temporary capacity will be 30 people (including non-walkers). Only one adult is permitted per child and with our woodlands being so vast, physically distancing from others should be no problem.
Babies and non walkers:
We always encourage our families to bring non walkers as they also get huge benefits from being outdoors but we don’t feel we can charge when they are not taking part, this means temporarily we will have to cap the number of babies to 3 per session and all babies must have a free booked ticket on the booking page. If your little one is cruising/just walking however and might like to get down and play, you can book a playing child ticket in addition to their older sibling so they can enjoy!
A brand new hand wash basin will be situated at the entrance of the woodland. We ask that you and your children wash hands before entering the session and regularly throughout the event as we recognise that good hand hygiene is one of our best germ protectors. As you can appreciate being in remote woodland we can only physically carry a certain amount of water, we therefore ask that your child only uses the basin for hand washing and not water play. If we run out of water sessions will be forced to close immediately.
We can physically distance but still be social:
Please observe the 2 metre social distancing guidelines when playing at Muddy Boots Forest Adventures. We know and appreciate that little children will not comprehend the guidelines that we’ve all come to understand, but we ask that our parents and carers support their little ones closely with this ,helping them see where others are playing and where they can explore next. You have always been fantastic at supporting your little one’s play and we know together, we can run sessions that are fun and safe.
Temporarily we have too put in some changes. We will still have a theme but rather than a group craft table instead each paying child will receive an individual activity bag which they can do during the session in their own space or do when they get home.
Campfire & Hot Drinks:
Temporarily there will be no hot drinks served throughout our sessions to avoid clusters of people in one space but you are very welcome to bring your own. The campfire log circle will be sealed off and each family will be invited to toast their marshmallows individually.
We will have spot mats for each child to sit on physically distance from others so everyone who wants to listen can enjoy our closing story.
We hope to see you soon 🌳🍃
