Muddy Boots Forest Adventures
Each session we get back to the roots of our Forest School ethos and through the year, focus on the six Forest School aims. Every half term we focus on a different Forest School Aim linking in with the EYFS and offer a different child led activity/task each week liked to the aim, to build and develop these particular skills should your child wish to get involved. These aims include nurturing self esteem, develop healthier lifestyles, to develop love and respect for nature, to be resilient, to be independent and to learn to work as a team.
Some slight adjustments to the timetable - Monday in HIGHWOODS (running an additional group at 11:15) Tuesdays now in IPSWICH, Fridays now in ABBERTON.
Now offering more ticket choices to families: Termly Tickets with a FREE gift, Flexible Half Termly Tickets & our popular Pay As You Go ticket. Sibling discount still available and remember your ticket includes hot drinks for the grown ups and a delicious vegan campfire brunch for the little ones
Does your baby/toddler love being outdoors?
Muddy Boots Forest Adventures is the place for them, an award winning, well established independent Forest School now in its 8th year, currently covering Essex and Suffolk.
Our unique Forest School is run by a highly experienced Montessori Teacher and Forest School Leader who has worked with children for nearly 19 years, each session is 100% child led with lots of props and activities set up around the woodland. This allows children to go off and follow their own interests, will they choose to climb a tree, balance on the climbing ropes, swing in the swings, dig for treasure, hunt for bugs, use tools or watch the birds? The only thing stopping them is their imagination.
We pride ourselves in offering a relaxed informal environment where children lead and parents breathe! This provides a no pressure environment where children can be with others or be alone and parents can step back from their busy lives and be at one with nature.

We run right through the whole year in ALL different weathers. It is so important that your child experiences all different weather conditions, the woodland changes, the smells are different, children develop a variety of skills, build resilience and learn all about the different clothing needed as well. Please note our sessions will only be cancelled if there are high winds or lightening forecast or on the very odd location when we have low numbers. If we do have to cancel you will be informed via email (may go into your junk mail) and a facebook message will put up by 7:30am so please always double check before you set off to avoid any unnecessary journeys.
FOREST SCHOOL & MONTESSORI
Like Montessori, Forest School allows all children from very small to use real equipment like hammers, saws, screwdrivers and rakes as well as learning new skills like climbing trees, balancing on logs, hunting for bugs and being near a campfire. We feel everything can be played with and explored safely if fully supervised by their accompanying adult. This allows children to learn through play, develop new skills, discover how to be safe and build resilience.
Every person who attends our Forest School will be asked to use our hand sanitiser on entry (excluding babes in arms which have not been paid for) This is not only to ensure we follow the strict guidance from environmental health and continue to remain Covid secure but also to protect those most vulnerable children and adults who attend our group regularly as well as our staff and their families. Our hand sanitiser has no alcohol and no fragrance and is suitable for the youngest of hands, you are very welcome to read the ingredients or alternatively use your own hand santiser at the entrance. We ask that this is 100% alcohol free due to the campfire. If you refuse to use the hand santitser for whatever reason you will not be permitted to enter, nor will we be able to offer you a transfer or refund.
Please ensure both you and your child is dressed for the weather, we suggest layers, long sleeves and biting insect spray during the summer months. Crawling/Cruising children not yet wearing shoes, we suggest an all in one waterproof suit and waterproof booties. We understand wellies can be difficult to walk in when you are very little and just learning to walk so a pair of trainers might be more suitable (preferably ones that can be put in washing machine) as some days it can be muddy.
"There is no such thing as bad weather just unsuitable clothing" Alfred Wainwright
We offer a complimentary vegan friendly, gluten free, egg and nut free campfire brunch in your ticket price at Muddy Totz.
Sessions cancelled due to extreme weather will be fully refunded how you paid. If you decide you can no longer attend for whatever reason, unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds or transfers but we do allow you to transfer the ticket to a friend and get your money back that way.
We kindly remind you this is a group for young children, some of which have a fear of dogs, some have allergies to dogs and some just dislike any animals so unfortunately however lovely and friendly your pet dog is, please refrain from bringing them along as they will not be permitted.
Treat your loved one to a unique gift, time out in fresh air exploring Forest School, eating delicious campfire brunch and making new friends. Just drop us an email firstname.lastname@example.org
