The Sandbox Cafe

Welcome to The Sandbox Café, a unique, interactive RC construction experience in the heart of Keswick, the Lake District.

Combining great coffee, delicious cakes and the excitement of operating radio-controlled construction machinery, The Sandbox Café offers something a little different for visitors of all ages.

Take control of our impressive fleet of realistic, 1:14 scale RC excavators, wheel loaders and dump trucks as you dig, load, transport and manoeuvre your way around our purpose-built construction arena.

Whether you’re a lifelong machinery enthusiast, looking for a fun family activity or simply fancy trying something completely different, there’s something for everyone.

Our fleet includes hobby-grade construction models alongside smaller, easier-to-operate machines for younger visitors. The experience is best suited to ages 5 and above, although younger children are very welcome with close adult assistance and supervision.

Our friendly team will be on hand to introduce you to the controls and help you get the most from your session, regardless of your previous experience.

Please arrive approximately 10 minutes before your booked session to allow time for check-in and familiarisation with the equipment.

Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Sandbox Café!
