Refund policy

Essex County Scouts Volunteering Development Team Refund Policy

  1. All payments for events are considered as non-refundable after the booking closing date of the event.

  2. Prior to the event booking closing, refunds will be considered up to the following rates:
    a. 25% Within 2 weeks of the bookings closing
    b. 50% 2 to 4 weeks of the bookings closing
    c. 100% more than 4 weeks of bookings closing.

  3. Refunds after bookings close may be considered only at our discretion and in limited circumstances such as:
    • The event is cancelled
    • Unforeseen serious ill health (supporting evidence may be requested)

  4. Refunds after bookings close will not normally be provided for changes in personal circumstances, non-attendance, or partial attendance.

  5. Exchange of one participant for another is allowed after the closing date of the event provided overall numbers are unaffected.

  6. Refunds will not be issued where non-attendance arises from a breach of the policies, rules, or code of conduct of The Scout Association.

  7. Any refund issued will be limited to recoverable costs only. We are unable to refund any costs that have already been committed or spent.

  8. All refund decisions are final.
