Over three hours Barker will lead a workshop especially focused on preparing and expanding your live performances – a key part of his evolving practice, and a talent honed through his years of experience and expertise – alongside discussion of exploratory production techniques across modular synths and hardware, as well as a section dedicated to his latest project, Discrete Ensemble, which exists within a lineage of his other instrument-making and which is being recorded simultaneously to his time in Glasgow at the Hamilton Mausoleum.
Sam will have his full live set-up for analysis and demonstration, and attendees should be interested in exploring different conceptual and concrete strategies for shaping live performance and production approaches, regardless of their preferred set-up or experience level.
ECHOES is a collaborative programme of events arranged by GLOSS, Scott Myles and Thinking Culture as part of an ongoing response to Instrument for the People of Glasgow.
