Nepacs training

Nepacs is a long standing charity working in the north east of England to support a positive future for prisoners and their families or significant others.

The charity offers a range of training courses for professionals working with children and families to help increase awareness of the needs of prisoners' families and how agencies can work together to support them.

We deliver a range of training workshops for professionals, including:

  • Hidden Sentence training: a full day (or four hour condensed course) workshop on the impact of imprisonment on prisoners families.
  • Hidden Sentence awareness sessions: we can deliver 2.5 hour or 3 hour awareness sessions for professionals who would like a brief introduction to understanding the needs of children and families impacted by a relative's imprisonment and some information on where to access support and information.
  • Listening support skills: a 2.5 hour workshop to assist frontline staff and volunteers refresh and improve their communication skills in order to offer a professional and supportive listening service.
  • Care leaver awareness: a 3 hour virtual session for those working with young people in both a community and custodial setting. The course explores what it means to be a care leaver and the potential issues faced by care experienced people. The course also gives awareness on the rights and entitlements of legal care leavers aged 18 to 25 years.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds. Should you be unable to attend, please inform us at least 7 days prior to your training course and we will endeavour to move you to an alternative date.
