This is an evening course consisting 10 x 2 hour evening classes. The course runs over 11 weeks with a half term break.
Our beginner silver jewellery making course is a great place to start if you’re new to jewellery making.
This beginner silver jewellery making course offers a good foundation in working with silver, introducing students to basic metal working techniques with a gentle learning curve. Our aim is to ensure students feel safe and confident in the workshop and have a good understanding of how to safely use the various pieces of equipment. We do this through a series of projects that change through the year.
Our winter term projects are as follows;
-Silver link chain bracelet: A hammer textured silver bracelet made from individual links.
-D wire ring with rub over setting: Silver ring made with d section wire with a round or oval cabochon stone.
-Lentil bead:A silver hollow form pendant with a surface pattern.
On completion of the course students will have a good grasp of basic jewellery making techniques and can be confident enough to set up at home. Students intending to further their learning can enrol on to following term beginner course where they will be able to build on there acquired skills through a series of new projects.
