Nina Stubbs 5Rhythms
Who am I?
Hello, my name is Nina Stubbs. I am a DJ and accredited 5Rhythms® teacher holding space for movement meditation in the Midlands since 2018.
Who is the 5Rhythms practice for?
Anyone with a body can take part in a 5Rhythms class although a standard two hours drop-in class is usually recommended for anyone 15 or over, children tend to get bored which can distract dancers from their process. It can feel quite active but it's at your own pace, so suitable for all levels of fitness and ability. There's no right or wrong way to move, no steps to follow and you are guided throughout our time together.
What if I think I can't dance?
In western culture dancing can carry a lot of judgement. Forget what you think you know about dance and instead, think about intuitive movement as a birthright. You were born wanting to move and your body knows this, let the body take the lead.
Is 5Rhythms a therapy?
5Rhythms is not a therapy but it can have therapeutic effects. I hold a space for embodied practice where we find our own healing through the body. It’s important to share with me any physical or mental health concerns, feel free to email me any questions katharinastubbs@gmail.com. Strong feelings can be stirred during the dance so I encourage you to get support if you encounter anything that feels overwhelming.
