Thinking Talking

Concern for spoken language in schools has never been higher, but the questions of 'how can we effectively support young people with SLCN?' remains the same. Thinking talking offer a range of approaches related to our best-selling books.

'Language for Behaviour and Emotions' (LFBE) is a specific programme to support young people with speech, language and communication needs and social and emotional health needs. There are two LFBE courses: 2 day for a complete introduction and a half day 'quick start' for those whose role is intervention only. Staff responsible for planning and oversight should come on the two day course. Staff responsible for interventions should attend the half day course. This allows you to create an 'LFBE team,' assessing, planning and supporting young people with SEMH and SLCN.

The two day live LFBE courses are run by the authors, Melanie Cross, Anna Branagan and Stephen Parsons. These courses are not recorded, so if you want more flexibility then choose the on-demand option https://thinkingtalking.podia.com/.

The half day 'running an LFBE intervention' course which is suited to TAs and others running the intervention is available on demand only: https://thinkingtalking.podia.com/

'Word Aware', 'Concept Cat' and 'Language for Thinking' courses are all now on-demand. This means you can view them at anytime via this link: https://thinkingtalking.podia.com/

It is also possible to commission any of our courses for your school or service. These can be arranged in person or via Zoom. Please go to thinkingtalking.co.uk/training for details.

Invoices for courses incur an administrative charge of £20.
