Alpaca Treks

Alpaca Treks are the perfect way to meet our alpacas. We offer a 90-minute treks which you get to enjoy with your own carefully selected alpaca who will accompany you on your trek. The trek takes place on a beautiful private farm track so there's no need to worry about encountering members of the public or dogs, and also provides a beautiful backdrop for those all important photos.

This is perfect for those who want a more hands on activity spending time and building a bond with just one alpaca, and are 16 or over.
If you don't fancy or can't walk for 90 minutes (the length of our treks), have already been on a trek and fancy something different, are perhaps a bit more nervous around animals and want a less hands on activity, or those with people 15 or under who wish to attend, then we reccomend our ‘alpaca experiences’ (please go back to our website and follow the appropriate link).

Before booking onto one of our treks, please take the time to read our guidelines below to make sure our alpaca treks are suitable for you.

A. Strictly no under 16s can take part or accompany us on this walk due to insurance reasons. If you have those under 16 in your party, check out our alpaca experiences: https://bookwhen.com/natterjackexperience

B. Whilst we have extensively trained our animals and exposed them to all sorts of different things, we do ask that all trekkers believe they are capable of keeping ahold of that lead rope if they do have a little jump about.

C. The total experience is 90 minutes long, once we start the walking aspect there are no short cuts back to the carpark so we ask that all trekkers believe they are capable of walking for this length of time.

D. Suitable footwear is compulsory as we walk across grass. During summer we reccomend trainers or walking boots, and during winter walking boots or wellies are best.
Alpacas have softer feet then horses but we insist that toes are covered all year round to be on the safe side. In the event of rain we do not allow umbrellas on the trek so please bring waterproofs instead.

E. Due to the nature of the ground, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs, walking aids or prams on our alpaca trek sessions. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements and we will arrange a bespoke activity for your group.

F. We recommend the use of insect repellent due to the nature of being with animals in open countryside.

G. No dogs, including guide and assistance dogs.

H. We run our treks in all weather, except thunderstorms or when there are dangerous road conditions locally. Due to the British weather being rather temperamental we cannot cancel treks due to rain. If we believe the weather to be too bad we will get in touch as soon as possible to rearrange your activity.

I. All trekkers must only arrive on site 5-10 minutes maximum before the start of the trek, you will then be collected from your car by a guide when we are ready for the session to begin. If you are going to be late please get in touch as soon as possible.

J. We do not offer refunds, in the event of a cancelation we will transfer your ticket to a gift voucher which will be valid for 12 months. We require at least 7 days notice if you need to cancel or transfer/move your booking, any cancellations or requests to transfer your booking after this time will not be eligible for a gift voucher and the booking will be lost with no voucher, transfer or refund due. We often struggle to fill slots at such short notice and as such lose business.
In the event you used a gift voucher to book, the cancellation will not be eligible for a 12 month gift voucher. Instead, the value of the booking will be returned back onto the original gift voucher, and the original expiry date will be remain. Any additional value paid will be issued on a second gift voucher, which will be eligible for the full 12 months validity. Similarly, any date transfers will not be able to carry forward the value of the voucher beyond the voucher's expiry date.

K. Anyone who is late will not be able to take part in their public activity and as such will lose their booking (no refund, transfer or gift voucher will be given). We will not be able to keep other members of the public waiting so please be considerate if you are booked onto a public trek.

L. Toilet facilities are only available on strictly an emergency basis. If you do require the toilet please text your guide as soon as you arrive. Please do not exit the car until prompted.

M. Please only book onto a public trek if you are a competent walker. If you are a steady walker or require regular breaks please book onto the private treks so we can take the activity at your pace.

N. All participants must be paid and booked on prior to attending, spectators are not permitted.
