Treat yourself or someone special to a creative experience with clay. Our pottery taster sessions are the perfect way to explore hand building in a relaxed, friendly studio. In this relaxed 1.5 hour class you’ll learn the basics of hand building using press and slump moulds. Perfect for complete beginners.
What you’ll do:
• Start with a quick introduction to the tools, materials, and moulds you can use to create simple, elegant forms.
• Learn how to roll out an even slab of clay, ready to shape.
• Use a press mould to form your bowl or platter.
• Explore decorating techniques, including texture, stamps, and coloured slip.
• Personalise your piece with pattern, colour, or a clean, simple finish.
What to expect
• A friendly, informal atmosphere with guidance throughout.
• All materials provided.
• Your piece will be dried, bisque fired, glazed in a studio white or transparent glaze, and ready to collect a few weeks later.
