Derwent - PIKE FISHING SUSPENDED – DERWENT RESERVOIR ,Due to rising water temperatures and in the interests of fish welfare, pike fishing at Derwent Reservoir will be suspended from Wednesday 24th June until further notice. Current water temperatures are sitting at 16°C, and with the hot weather forecast over the coming week, we are very likely to reach the 18°C threshold, where the stress and risk to pike during capture and release increases significantly. The welfare of our fish stocks is always our priority, and this temporary suspension has been put in place to help protect the reservoir’s pike population during these warmer conditions. We will continue to closely monitor water temperatures and conditions. As soon as temperatures fall to a suitable level, we will provide an update and announce when pike fishing can resume.
