A Year in Review (2025): The People Behind the Numbers
As I look back on the past year, I feel a deep sense of pride. Not just in the numbers, but in the people behind them. For us at Bookwhen, every ticket, every event, and every email represents someone showing up, connecting, and bringing an idea to life.
Over the last 12 months, our platform facilitated more than 14 million tickets were booked across just over 2.7 million events. Even more exciting is the community building behind those figures, 25% of attendees, over 1.1 million people, returned to book again. Those moments all started as sparks of inspiration from organisers in 108 countries, reminding us that events matter everywhere, big or small.
Scaling this impact requires a balance of smart technology and human empathy. This year, our AI support bot, Buddy, helped organisers worldwide get faster, more timely assistance. But it doesn’t work alone. Every message is still checked by our team behind the scenes, because while technology can support the process, empathy always comes from people. Behind the scenes, we also sent nearly 9 million automated emails. From confirmations and reminders to follow-ups post events, each one is designed to ensure attendees feel supported and organisers feel confident.
Bookwhen is a team of just 15 people, and we love the freedom that comes from not being tied to investors or boards. It lets us focus on what really matters: supporting organisers, delighting attendees, and building a platform that feels human at every step. Winning our first Bronze Award at the UK Customer Experience Awards was a lovely recognition of our work, but the real reward comes from knowing the people we serve feel cared for.
Looking ahead, our mission remains unchanged: to listen, to learn, and to help people bring their ideas to life. Thank you to every organiser, attendee, and team member who made this year possible. We couldn’t do it without you, and we can’t wait to see what we create together next.
